Why is my product not showing in my Online Store?

There could be a few reasons for this.  To diagnosis what the problem is, go to ONLINE BUSINESS > MY PRODUCTS.  Locate the applicable product, and EDIT it.  From here, you should check the following:

  • Have you set Visibility of the Product to PRIVATE?  If so, you will need to change it to PUBLIC
  • Are you on a plan (Free or Business or even Ultimate) where you have too many Public products for sale which exceed your plan limit?  If so, you will either need to make some other products Private so that you stay under your plan limit.  Alternatively, if you need to be able to sell more products than your plan provides, you could:
    • Upgrade your plan
    • Contact us about going on a custom plan
  • [Ultimate Plan] Have you set your Publish date to a date in the future.  If so, the product won’t appear in your Online Store until that date is reached.  If you want to change this, you will need to Click on the PUBLISH EDIT button (above the ADD OR UPDATE PRODUCT button) and change the time so it becomes published now rather than in the future.
  • Have you not assigned a Category to your product, if so, you will need to assign one so it shows up in the category where you want to display it.  See our articles on how to create a category.  Essentially you will need to click on ONLINE BUSINESS > MY PRODUCTS, then click on the button ADD CATEGORY.  Add A Category.  Then go back to the Product in question, and in your MY CATEGORIES panel, tick the category you want to assign it to.  Save.
  • Have you hidden the Uncategorized category? If so, your item could be in this category, and therefore not displaying as you have hidden this category.  To reshow the Uncategorized category, go to MY SETTINGS > MY BUSINESS – ONLINE STORE.  Click on the PRODUCTS tab, then untick the “CATEGORY DISPLAY ON SHOP PAGE” option, so you have no longer hidden the Uncategorized Category on your Shop Page.  NOTE: you may also have renamed the UNCATEGORIZED category to something else, such as ‘OTHER’, although you don’t really need to know what you have renamed this as for the purposes of solving this problem, if you want to know, go to the menu item ONLINE STORE > MY PRODUCTS. Then click on Add A Category, and review your categories to see their names.  The Uncategorized category is a default category, and will be in your list.
